What does the Negros Island House of Prayer believe in?

We, the Negros Island House of Prayer (NIHOP), strongly believe that we are in the last of the last days, and a major move of the Holy Spirit is His prophetic outpouring (Joel 2:28ff), where all are going to prophecy.  We understand that the prophetic anointing is crucial and essential to prepare the way of the Lord (Isa. 40:3), that is His Second Coming.  There is therefore an urgent and extreme need to understand from the Scriptures and through the Spirit what it means to be prophetic, or to prophesy.  Thus, the need for a School of the Prophetic.

Who may join the School of the Prophetic?

The School of the Prophets is a school of development for those who are felt led to exercise their gifts in the prophetic ministry, and also those who are prompted to or desire a deeper understanding of the prophetic gift and office.

Through the study of the prophetic teaching in the Scripture, the validity and continuing need of the prophetic ministry today is clear.   We pray to be able to bring new understanding to this truth and help remove, skepticism and prejudice against this ver much needed ministry today.

NEGROS ISLAND HOUSE OF PRAYER (NIHOP)

I. INTENTION AND VISION:

We, the Negros Island House of Prayer (NIHOP), strongly believe that we are in the last of the last days, and a major move of the Holy Spirit is His prophetic outpouring (Joel 2:28ff), where all are going to prophecy.

We understand that the prophetic anointing is crucial and essential to prepare the way of the Lord (Isa. 40:3), that is, His Second Coming.   There, is therefore, an urgent and extreme need to understand from the Scriptures and through the Spirit what it means to be prophetic, or to prophesy.  Thus, the need for a School of Prophetic.

A School of the Prophetic is needed together with a Bible School.  However, a Bible School only studies the prophecies in the Bible, but does not study or teach what it means and how to operate prophetically.  NIHOP therefore reiterates the crying need of the times for a School of Prophetic.

NIHOP is extremely aware that the putting up of a School of the Prophetic in this place (Bacolod City, Negros Occidental) may be controversial.  We, however, believe that we must receive the prophetic anointing promised in Joel 2:28 and related passages of the Bible is learn and study about this in the Scriptures itself, and to seek the Holy Spirit to teach us.  We, therefore, hope and pray, that by putting up this School we would provoke the brethren to study and seek the Lord concerning the last days’ moves of the Holy Spirit.

NIHOP is also extremely aware that we do not have the bio-data of the usual roster of professors or teachers in more established Schools of the Prophets in other parts of the world,  but after seeking the mind and heart of the Lord for months on the matter, we are united in the conviction that we should put up this School without further delay.  We do so in the faith that the Lord Himself through His Holy Spirit will teach us as we seek Him and His Word, and that He will send us aid and teachers as we go along.

The NIHOP School of the Prophetic, therefore, is a school of co-seekers, of those who hunger and thirst for the best that the Holy Spirit can offer in these last days.

This is not to say that our teachers all have no background in Bible School.  Quite to the contrary, we have.  However, the Holy Spirit is our Teacher, and we seek Him and learn from Him as we go along.

II.  THE SCHOOL'S STATEMENT OF FAITH:

We confess, believe, and subscribe to the following statement of faith:

1.         That the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, in its original manuscript, is inerrant, infallible, and fully inspired Word of God, which has Supreme Authority over all matters of faith and practice.

2.         That God is One Being – there is only one God, but Who has revealed Himself in the Bible and in history in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3.         That God became flesh in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ – Son of God and Son of Man, fully God and fully man at the same time.

4.         That sin is ultimately punished by eternal death in a literal Hell, but that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

5.         That salvation is solely by grace through faith in the complete saving works of the Lord Jesus Christ – by His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection.

6.         That true saving faith produces fruit – fruit of worship, fruit of righteousness (which is a sanctified life and good works), fruit of the Spirit, fruit of service, fruit of intercession, and fruit of evangelism and discipleship.

7.         That the present age is the age of the Holy Spirit, that is, He is the Source of life, power, gift, anointing, leading, guidance, quickened understanding, and revelation to the Christian, that His works are undiminished and full, and that all Christians should be open to His full works, and keep on being filled by Him.

8.      That heaven is a real place of eternal bliss, peace, and glory, prepared for those who are in Christ.
